The first annual general meeting that provided the forum for the election of the first Chairperson and an eligle KNDI full council was held on 3rd October 2009 under the supervision of the then Electoral Commission of Kenya. The elected council members were gazetted by the then Minister for Public Health - Hon. Beth Mugo - in the Kenya gazette Vol CXII - No. 15 on 19th February 2010.
