TREE PLANTING DAY
The Vice Chancellor Prof. Henry Kiplangat today led the University management and members of staff in the tree planting day event at the main campus.
Following the footsteps of the founder of Kabarak University His Excellency the Late Hon. Daniel T. Arap Moi who loved planting trees, the Vice chancellor planted two trees.
In his remarks the Vice Chancellor encouraged everyone to plant trees as many benefits come along with the planting of trees. He noted that the founder was a great environmentalist.
The tree planting event comes a day after the world’s earth day which is celebrated around the world every 22nd of April to pledge support for environmental protection. This year marked the 51st anniversary of the annual celebrations. The theme this year is ‘Restore Our Earth’.
Present at the event was Prof. John Ochola – Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic & Research), Rev. Prof Jacob Kibor – University Provost, Dr. Simon Kipchumba – Registrar (Administration & Human Resource), Mrs Patrcia Chebet – University Librarian, Mr Gideon Langat – Finance Manager, Rev. Justus Mutuku – University Chaplain, Mr. Andrew Marangu – Corporate Communication & Marketing Manager among other members of staff.
