Deputy Vice-Chancellor (A&R)
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Research) is in - charge of Academic and Research matters of the University. The DVC (A&R) deputizes the Vice-Chancellor in his absence and the absence of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration and Finance). The DVC (A&R) is an ex officio member of every Non-Academic Committees and Research Committees of the University.
Prof. John N. Ochola is the Deputy Vice Chancellor (Academic and Research) at Kabarak University. He holds Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Higher Education Administration as well as Master of Library Science (MLS) from the University of Southern Mississippi, Hattiesburg, Mississippi, USA.
He earned his Bachelor of Theology degree from Kenya Highlands Bible College (now Kenya Highlands Evangelical University), Kericho, Kenya. His area of research is in higher education administration.
After postgraduate studies and prior to joining Kabarak University, Prof. Ochola was the Director of Collection Development for the University Libraries and Associate Director of African Studies, Baylor University, Waco, Texas, USA. Thereafter, he served as the Academic Dean at Nairobi Evangelical Graduate School of Theology, now Africa International University, Nairobi, Kenya.
Besides his core responsibilities at Kabarak University, Prof. Ochola is also currently serving as the Chairman of the University Council of Kenya Highlands Evangelical University and Vice-Chairman of the Board of Moffat Bible College, Kijabe Kenya.
Registrar
The Registrar (Academic & Research) is in charge of students’ admissions, records, examinations and timetabling. Registrar (A&R) is the secretary to Senate and all Senate sub-committees.
Dr. Antony Somba is the Registrar Academic and Research. He holds a Bachelor Arts English and Literature from Kenyatta University, a Master’s Degree in English and Literature from Egerton University and a PhD in English Language and Linguistics from Kabarak University.
Dr. Somba is passionate about teaching & quality assurance and besides his core responsibility; he enjoys serving in his community church- AIC Kabarnet Farm as a Trainer and member of the Praise and Worship Team.
