The Division provides leadership and oversight for the University's academic and research matters, supporting academic administration, research activity and the effective coordination of University affairs.
Academic and Research Leadership
Prof. John N. Ochola
The Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic & Research) is in charge of academic and research matters of the University. The DVC (A&R) deputizes the Vice-Chancellor in his absence and the absence of the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Administration and Finance).
The DVC (A&R) is an ex officio member of every Non-Academic Committee and Research Committee of the University.

Dr. Anthony Somba
The Registrar (Academic & Research) is in charge of student admissions, records, examinations and timetabling. The Registrar (A&R) is the secretary to Senate and all Senate sub-committees.
Dr. Somba holds a Bachelor of Arts in English and Literature from Kenyatta University, a Master's degree in English and Literature from Egerton University, and a PhD in English Language and Linguistics from Kabarak University.
He is passionate about teaching and quality assurance. Beyond his core responsibilities, he serves his community church, AIC Kabarnet Farm, as a trainer and member of the Praise and Worship Team.
