The Directorate of Excellence in Learning and Teaching (DELT) is an academic office that is responsible for providing training to academic staff on the best practices of teaching and learning. This is in line with Kabarak University's vision of becoming a center of academic excellence founded on biblical Christian values.
DELT is led by a director, who is appointed by the management. The director works closely with the Academic and Research Divisions, Quality Assurance, and ICT departments.
The primary objective of DELT is to enhance the quality of education at Kabarak University by equipping academic staff with the necessary skills and knowledge. Through various training programs and workshops, DELT ensures that the teaching methods employed by the faculty are effective and up-to-date.
DELT also plays a crucial role in promoting a culture of continuous improvement in teaching and learning. By conducting regular evaluations and assessments, DELT identifies areas that require improvement and provides support to the academic staff in implementing necessary changes.
Furthermore, DELT collaborates with other academic institutions and organizations to stay updated with the latest trends and advancements in the field of education. This enables Kabarak University to remain at the forefront of innovative teaching practices.
The industry is looking out for employees who can critically think, work in teams, bring solutions to problems, take initiative, effectively communicate, innovative and able to embrace technology among other attributes. These attributes, can only be acquired through a student-centered approach to learning. It is for this reason that DELT trains lecturers in Pedagogical skills, how to be innovative and keep up with emerging Technology in Teaching and Learning.
