Kabarak University sports teams delivered strong performances in a series of friendly matches held as part of preparations for the upcoming inter-university competitions, set to begin in September. The fixtures provided an opportunity for teams to assess their readiness, strengthen teamwork, and fine-tune strategies ahead of the regional championships.
The matches brought together teams from institutions including Great Lakes University of Kisumu, Mount Kenya University, Njoro Technical Training Institute, Ravine Technical Training Institute, and Rift Valley National Polytechnic. The encounters offered valuable competitive exposure while allowing coaches and players to evaluate performance and identify areas for improvement.

In football, Kabarak University's men's team secured an impressive 3-0 victory over Great Lakes University of Kisumu, demonstrating strong attacking play and defensive discipline. The women's football team also put in a spirited performance, narrowly losing 2-1 in a closely contested match.

The handball teams continued their excellent form with commanding displays. The men's team defeated Great Lakes University of Kisumu 14-5 before recording another dominant 22-6 victory against Njoro Technical Training Institute. The women's handball team also impressed, overcoming Njoro Technical Training Institute with a convincing 14-5 win.
Kabarak University's rugby team produced one of the standout performances of the fixtures, registering a comprehensive 50-14 victory over Great Lakes University of Kisumu. The match highlighted the team's physical strength, tactical execution, and attacking efficiency.
In basketball, the men's team recorded two notable victories, defeating Mount Kenya University 57-18 before overcoming Ravine Technical Training Institute 47-25. The women's basketball team also gained valuable match experience against Rift Valley National Polytechnic as they continue preparations for the upcoming season.

According to the University Sports Office, the friendly matches were designed to help teams sharpen their skills, strengthen team chemistry, and build confidence ahead of the inter-university championships scheduled for September.
