Turning ideas into practical health solutions requires the right skills, expert guidance, and opportunities to test new approaches. Through its collaboration with AfyaVentures, Kabarak University is helping student innovators develop solutions that respond to real-world health challenges.
On 13th and 14th October 2026, student innovators, health experts, consultants, and faculty members gathered at Lake Bogoria Spa - Kabarak for a two-day idea-vetting event to assess student-led health innovations and identify concepts with potential for further development.
Judges from AMREF Health Africa, Amref consultants and Kabarak University faculty evaluated the ideas, offering feedback to help students refine their concepts and strengthen their proposed solutions.
The presentations showcased students' creativity and interest in addressing pressing health challenges. The discussions also built on skills gained through the programme, including problem identification, effective problem framing, and developing solutions that address genuine community needs.
Following the vetting exercise, the best-performing ideas will advance to the incubation stage, where innovators will receive further support to refine their concepts and work towards developing viable solutions.
