Complementary Report on the implementation of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC) by Kenya.

This complementary report to the African Committee of Experts on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACERWC) has been prepared by the Centre for Legal Aid and Clinical Legal Education (CLACLE) to complement Kenya’s 4th Periodic Report on the implementation of the African Charter on the Rights and Welfare of the Child (ACRWC), submitted in October 2025 pursuant to Article 43 of the Charter. While acknowledging the State’s progress in promoting child rights, this report identifies key areas where systemic gaps persist and where implementation remains inconsistent with both the spirit and letter of the Charter.
