Kabarak University is a community built on a foundation of academic excellence, integrity, and a commitment to producing leaders who make a tangible impact on society. Today, we celebrate a monumental milestone that perfectly embodies these values.
We are immensely proud and delighted to announce the appointment of Justice Dominic Kipkemoi Rono as a Judge of the High Court of Kenya. Justice Rono, who officially took his oath of office and was sworn in on May 4, 2026, has ascended to a higher calling of national duty.
Before this historic elevation to the bench, Justice Rono was an invaluable pillar of our institution. He served with great distinction as a partner at Rono & Co. Advocates and as a lecturer in the prestigious Kabarak University School of Law. Through his legal expertise and passion for mentorship, he has molded the minds of countless legal scholars, instilling in them the rigorous standards of justice and professionalism.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat, PhD, MBS, OGW, expressed the university's profound pride and bittersweet joy regarding this transition: "His appointment is a strong affirmation of the quality of faculty in our School of Law," stated Prof. Kiplangat. "While we shall undoubtedly miss his contribution, we take pride in his achievement and celebrate this important milestone in his professional journey."
Justice Rono’s appointment reassures our student body that they are being guided by minds recognized at the highest levels of national governance and jurisprudence.
As members of the Kabarak University family, our mission remains rooted in our moral code to set apart Jesus as Lord in our hearts at all times and in all places (1 Peter 3:15). We carry this prayerful spirit forward as we send off one of our finest.
On behalf of the Entire Kabarak University Community, we extend our warmest congratulations and utmost respect to Justice Rono. We pray for wisdom, discernment, and courage as he steps into this new chapter to serve our country and uphold the Constitution.
