Sanitary pads and face masks drive outreach

The Outreach and linkages section of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Outreach in partnership with Safaricom PLC carried out an Outreach activity on 29th October 2021 .The team visited three schools (St. Mary primary school, Kampi ya Moto primary and Kampi ya Moto secondary in Rongai sub county)

The Outreach and linkages section of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Outreach in partnership with Safaricom PLC carried out an Outreach activity on 29th October 2021 .The team visited three schools (St. Mary primary school, Kampi ya Moto primary and Kampi ya Moto secondary in Rongai sub county)

The main objective of the event was to build capacity in various areas, this included but not limited to; Career choice, peer counseling, Mental Health matters, Drug abuse, menstrual hygiene ,motivation speeches among others

The team also donated sanitary pads, branded washable masks and soaps to the girls and boys of the three schools. The team donated over 1500 pads to the girls and 1000 face masks

Safaricom PLC sponsored and supported the University Outreach activity with KES 100,000

Present during the activity were the staff and students from School of medicine and Health Sciences, Marketing Department represented by Mr. Brian Toroitich, and the coordinator Outreach and Linkages ,Ms. Faith Yator
