Kabarak University welcomed a Safeguarding Assessment Team from the KCB Foundation as part of ongoing preparations for the MSMEs Training Programme. The visit aimed to ensure that all partner universities involved in the programme meet the highest standards of safeguarding and protection for beneficiaries.
The meeting was held in the University Boardroom and was chaired by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat. The KCB team was led by Mr. Fredrick Mutunda Mwangangi, the Safeguarding and Gender Equality, Disability, and Inclusion (GEDI) Manager, accompanied by members of the KCB Safeguarding Team.
During the session, the KCB Foundation team reviewed the University’s current safeguarding structures, policies, and practices, paying particular attention to measures that support youth, MSMEs, and vulnerable groups. The visit was part of a nationwide assessment by the Foundation to make sure that all training partners offer a safe and supportive environment for programme participants.
The Vice-Chancellor expressed appreciation for the engagement and highlighted the University’s anticipation of a fruitful partnership with the KCB Foundation in delivering impactful MSME training across the country.

After the meeting, the KCB Safeguarding Team toured various areas of the University as part of their assessment. The visit represents an important step toward strengthening collaboration between the two institutions, not only in MSME training, but also in future initiatives that will support deserving students and promote access to education.
Kabarak University looks forward to deepening this partnership with the KCB Foundation and working together to make a positive difference in the lives of learners, entrepreneurs, and communities across Kenya.
