International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) Features Kabarak University Librarian in Global ‘Kenyan Stories’ Series

Kabarak University proudly celebrates a remarkable global recognition of our own staff member, Mr. David Kipchirchir Koech, a dedicated librarian at the Daniel T. Arap Moi Library.

Mr. Koech has been featured by the International Federation of Library Associations and Institutions (IFLA) under Kenyan Stories, a notable international spotlight that highlights impactful library professionals shaping access to knowledge worldwide. This feature places both David and the Daniel T. Arap Moi Library firmly on the global map, showcasing Kabarak University’s contribution to librarianship, open access, and knowledge sharing.

An active member of the Kenya Library Association (KLA) and the founder of Library Matters Initiative Africa (LIM-AFRICA), Mr. Koech is a strong advocate for Open Access (OA) and Open Educational Resources (OER) across the continent. His work continues to advance inclusive access to information and strengthen library networks regionally and internationally.

This recognition by IFLA is a proud moment for Kabarak University and a testament to the excellence, professionalism, and global impact of our library staff. We congratulate Mr. David Koech for this outstanding achievement and for elevating the profile of the Daniel T. Arap Moi Library on the world stage.
