KICD, CBC training

The team from Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) led by Prof. Charles Ong’ondo – Director/CEO brief the University senate on the essence of Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) Basic Education Curriculum Framework (BECF), preparations required in implementing BECF/CBC, and management implications of the BECF.

The team from Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) led by Prof. Charles Ong’ondo – Director/CEO brief the University senate on the essence of Competency-Based Curriculum (CBC) Basic Education Curriculum Framework (BECF), preparations required in implementing BECF/CBC, and management implications of the BECF.

The team will also train selected master trainers on the essence of Basic Education Curriculum Framework and CBC, CBC instructional and assessment methods, resources required for CBC, and new approach in curriculum development and review for CBC among others. The training is envisaged to take place from 6th to 17th September 2021.

In his speech, during the special senate meeting, the University Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry Kiplangat noted that the University is positioning itself to train CBC-compliant teachers for Junior and Senior Secondary schools.
