Grand Opening & Dedication: Nakuru City Campus Complex and Kabarak University TVET Institute Launch

The 6th of October 2023 marked the official opening of the Nakuru City Campus Complex and the launch of the Kabarak University – TVET Institute. This momentous occasion represented a significant step towards providing higher education and technical training. The event was attended by the Chancellor, Hon. Dr. Gideon Moi; the Board of Trustees led by their Chair, Hon. Kipruto Moi; and the Governing Council led by Dr. John Kibosia. The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat, led the University management. Dignitaries, faculty, students, and members of the community shared a memorable experience, witnessing the expansion of educational opportunities and the fostering of innovation in Nakuru and countrywide.

The Nakuru City Campus Complex is a state-of-the-art facility designed to accommodate the growing student population and promote learning. The modern architectural offices, a contemporary library, and the classrooms are equipped with the latest technology to facilitate quality education.

The launch event featured captivating performances by The University Chapel Choir and School of Music, showcasing their expertise in great music, from vocals to instrumentals, leaving the congregation in awe. In addition, the distinguished guests, led by the University Chancellor, participated in a ribbon-cutting and tree-planting ceremony to officially inaugurate the Nakuru City Campus Complex and the TVET Institute.

The Chief Guest of the event, Dr. Kipkirui Langat, the first Director General of TVET Authority, commended Kabarak University’s dedication to promoting education and emphasized the importance of such institutions in driving socio-economic development in the region. The Nakuru City Campus plays a pivotal role in addition to the city's education landscape. He also stressed the importance of collaboration between academia, industry, and the community to nurture the next generation of skilled professionals.

The grand opening of the Nakuru City Campus and the launch of the Kabarak University TVET Institute mark a significant milestone in the education landscape of Nakuru and Kenya as a whole. It reflects Kabarak University’s commitment to providing accessible, quality education and addressing the demand for technical and vocational skills.
