AYLF Inspires Youth to Participate in Governance and Decision-Making at Egerton University

The Africa Youth Leadership Forum (AYLF) is committed to cultivating a new generation of young leaders in Africa.

On November 23rd, 2024, the Africa Youth Leadership Forum Kabarak Chapter (Main Campus and Nakuru City Campus) had the privilege of attending a public lecture at Egerton University focused on promoting youth participation in governance and decision-making processes.

During the interactive sessions, attendees engaged in insightful discussions on legal procedures and budget-making processes. A presentation on petition-making and the electoral process in Kenya provided valuable insights. The primary goal of these discussions was to equip attendees with the knowledge and tools to participate effectively in these processes and contribute meaningfully to their communities.

The event underscored the importance of active citizenship and responsible leadership. By understanding the specific stages of governance and decision-making, young people can advocate for their interests and work towards positive change.

We sincerely thank the University Management Board (UMB) for supporting our club's activities. Their encouragement has significantly contributed to the club's vitality, and we look forward to more impactful engagements in the coming year.
