On Saturday, the 7th, Kabarak University, through the Enactus Club, successfully hosted the On-Campus Hult Prize Competition, bringing together innovative student teams to showcase entrepreneurial solutions addressing pressing social challenges. The competition was part of the global Hult Prize initiative, which empowers students to develop sustainable, scalable social enterprises aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals.
The event featured a panel of judges accredited by the Hult Prize headquarters, ensuring a rigorous and globally benchmarked evaluation process. Student teams demonstrated creativity, problem-solving, and business acumen as they pitched their ideas to the judges and members of the University community.
A total of seven teams participated in the competition, presenting diverse and impactful concepts. The competing teams included Zero Plate, Waste2Wash, Mediguard, NutriMama, Revalue, SomaNami Study Buddy, and Smart Solar Irrigation for Smallholder Farmers. Each team delivered well-prepared pitches that reflected strong research, innovation, and a commitment to social impact.

Following a competitive and engaging pitching session, SomaNami Study Buddy emerged as the overall winner of the on-campus competition. The team’s solution stood out for its clarity, relevance, and potential for scalable impact, earning them the opportunity to advance to the next stage of the Hult Prize journey.
Through platforms such as Enactus and the Hult Prize, our university continues to provide students with opportunities to turn ideas into impactful solutions that address real-world challenges, reinforcing its mission of holistic, values-driven education.
