Exciting football action unfolded at the Kabarak University football pitch as the university’s men’s team faced off against Ubunifu Sports Academy in a lively and highly competitive friendly match. Supporters from both sides were treated to an afternoon of skill, determination, and dramatic moments as the two teams battled to an impressive 2-2 draw.
The opening half was closely contested, with both teams showing strong defensive organization and discipline in midfield. Despite several promising attacking moves from either side, neither team managed to break the deadlock before halftime, sending the match into the break at 0-0.
The second half, however, came alive with intensity and excitement. Ubunifu Sports Academy struck first to take the lead, but Kabarak University responded with great determination and composure. Gofrey Gakuru, popularly known as “Wate,” sparked the comeback with a well-taken goal that lifted the home crowd. Moments later, Bramuel Lihanda, affectionately known as “Bram,” found the back of the net with a powerful finish to level the score and seal a thrilling 2-2 draw in the entertaining friendly encounter.
Speaking after the match, Head Coach Dr. Justine Oguta praised the team for their fighting spirit and resilience after coming from behind. He noted that the performance offered valuable lessons and positive signs ahead of the upcoming season.
