Kabarak University officially opened its gates on Monday evening, August 24, 2026, to host the Anglican Church of Kenya’s 2nd Bishops and Clergy Conference. The opening ceremony and Holy Communion service, which began at 7:00 PM, brought together church leaders, clergy, and delegates from across the country under the theme Nurturing the Future Generation for a Prosperous Kenya.
Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat formally welcomed the congregation, expressing Kabarak’s gratitude to the ACK leadership for returning to the campus for this national gathering.
Speaking to the assembled bishops and clergy, Prof. Kiplangat pointed to the shared duty both the church and the university hold in guiding the youth. He referenced Acts 20:28, reminding the church leaders of their calling as spiritual guardians, while outlining how Kabarak works alongside that mission through higher education rooted in Biblical principles.
Prof. Kiplangat also shared key updates on Kabarak's growth, including its expanded academic programs, flexible eCampus offerings, international university partnerships, and major industry collaborations with tech partners like Huawei, Microsoft, Google, Safaricom, and Amazon Web Services.
The evening set the stage for four days of reflection, workshops, and Bible expositions focused on equipping young people across Kenya.
