"Joy to the World, the Lord Has Come!" – A Heartwarming Prelude to Christmas at Kabarak University

The spirit of Christmas came alive at Kabarak University as the institution hosted its much-anticipated Special Christmas Carols and Holy Communion Service at the iconic Convocation Hall. This festive gathering brought together the vibrant Kabarak University community from the Main Campus, Nakuru City Campus, and Kabarak University TVET, marking the season with joy, unity, and faith.

Held during the day, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m., the service was a beautiful blend of music, worship, and reflection. The event was led by Reverend Justus Mutuku, the Acting University Provost, whose message of hope and renewal set the tone for the celebration.

At the heart of the occasion were the captivating performances by the University and Chapel Choir, whose harmonies beautifully conveyed the essence of Christmas—peace, love, and goodwill. These moving renditions were expertly guided by a team of accomplished conductors:

  • Prof. Fredrick B.J.A. Ngala, Director of Music Performance,
  • Mr. Cohen Chagala and Mr. Owen Orwa from the School of Music and Media, and
  • Mr. Benard Saat from the School of Pharmacy.

Adding depth and brilliance to the music was Mr. Githinji Kaniu, who served as the pianist and accompanist, enhancing each carol with his exceptional talent. The event was seamlessly coordinated by the enthusiastic Masters of Ceremony, Mr. Hiheso Hendrick, and Ms. Praise Gathoni, who ensured the program flowed smoothly.

A pivotal moment of the service was the Holy Communion, a sacred act that reminded everyone of the true essence of Christmas—the birth of Christ and the hope and salvation He brings to humanity.

In his remarks, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry Kiplangat expressed immense pride in the Kabarak University community, particularly the students whose achievements have brought glory to the institution this year. Prof. Kiplangat emphasized the university’s commitment to excellence and optimism for an even more blessed 2025. He concluded by wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year.

The Special Christmas Carols and Holy Communion Service was more than just a celebration—it was a powerful testament to the unity, faith, and joy that define the Kabarak University family. As the attendees departed, their hearts were filled with gratitude, inspiration, and the warmth of the festive season.

May the light of Christmas continue to shine brightly within the Kabarak University community and inspire all to spread joy and goodwill in the year ahead.
