On Friday, December 19, 2025, the Kabarak University Sports Grounds came alive with colour, ceremony, and deep reflection as the University hosted its 21st Graduation Ceremony, a defining milestone in its 25-year journey of transforming lives through education anchored in Biblical Christian values. The congregation brought together thousands of graduates, parents, guardians, faculty, partners, and dignitaries in a solemn yet celebratory commissioning of the Class of 2025.
Held under the theme “Celebrating a Year of Fresh Impetus on Entrepreneurship, Partnerships, Internationalization, and Excellence in Quality Standards,” the ceremony captured a year marked by institutional renewal, global engagement, and national recognition. It reaffirmed Kabarak University’s vision “to become a center of academic excellence founded on Biblical Christian values” and its growing stature within Kenya, the East African region, and the global academic community
The University was profoundly honoured to host H.E. Hon. Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, C.G.H., the Fourth President of the Republic of Kenya, as the Chief Guest and Graduation Speaker. His presence symbolised national confidence in Kabarak University’s contribution to leadership formation, ethical governance, and human capital development.

In his address, the former President commended the graduates for their perseverance and urged them to take up their place as productive, ethical citizens. Echoing the University’s values, he challenged them to align innovation with integrity and service to humanity—principles that remain central to Kabarak’s identity as a Christian university
Presiding over the ceremony was the Chancellor, Hon. Dr. Gideon Kipsielei Towett Moi, who congratulated the 2,390 graduands and reminded them that their academic success represents both personal sacrifice and collective investment by families, sponsors, and the University community.

“I congratulate and welcome you to play your role as productive individuals well prepared to contribute to the growth and prosperity of our country and global economy,” the Chancellor affirmed, underscoring the graduates’ responsibility beyond the ceremony
The ceremony was attended by members of the University Governing Council, Board of Trustees, and University Management Board, led by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiptiony Kiplangat, PhD, MBS, OGW. In his comprehensive address, the Vice-Chancellor outlined how 2025 became one of the most transformative years in the University’s history, particularly through institutional entrepreneurial transformation, global partnerships, and quality assurance milestones

Kabarak University’s achievements in 2025 were both national and regional in scale. Among the most notable accolades were:
- Top Private University in Kenya and 5th Best Overall in the 2026 Times Higher Education World University Rankings
- Company of the Year (Large Enterprises) – Overall Winner, Kenya Quality Awards
- Service of the Year (Private Large Enterprises), Kenya Bureau of Standards
- Winner, Leadership and Governance Category, Federation of Kenya Employers
- East African Community Overall Company of the Year 2025 (Large Enterprise)
These honours positioned Kabarak as a benchmark institution in quality management, leadership, governance, and service excellence across the region

The 2,390 graduates reflected the University’s academic breadth across seven schools, spanning certificates, diplomas, undergraduate degrees, master’s degrees, and doctoral qualifications. Among them were distinguished doctoral scholars and the Class of 2025 Valedictorian, Kennedy T. Odhiambo Onyango of the School of Pharmacy, whose address blended humour, gratitude, and resilience, capturing the lived experience behind academic success

The conferral of degrees followed a structured academic procession, symbolising continuity, order, and scholarly tradition—hallmarks of university education globally.
A defining highlight of the congregation was the strong international presence, led by Prof. Bernard Nthambeleni, Vice-Chancellor of the University of Venda, South Africa. His participation reflected the deepening collaboration between the two institutions, particularly through the African Musicology Institute, jointly established and launched in 2025. This partnership exemplifies Kabarak University’s growing continental influence in scholarship, culture, and research exchange

Beyond Africa, the Vice-Chancellor detailed strategic partnerships with institutions and organizations in China, the United States, Europe, and across East Africa, including collaborations in:
- Artificial Intelligence and Data Science (ENGAGE Project)
- Medical and Pharmaceutical Training and Research
- Entrepreneurship and MSME Capacity Building
- Foreign Language Programs (Chinese and German) supporting global employability
In keeping with Kabarak University’s founding philosophy, the spiritual dimension of the ceremony remained central. The Ag. University Provost, Rev. Justus M. Mutuku, offered pastoral counsel, reminding graduates that their education equips them not only for careers but for service, resilience, and moral leadership in an uncertain and rapidly changing world.

As tassels were moved and graduates formally admitted into the alumni community, the atmosphere was one of gratitude, joy, and expectation. The 21st Graduation Ceremony was a commissioning moment, sending forth a generation prepared to innovate, lead, and serve with integrity.
The congregation closed with a renewed sense of purpose: Kabarak University continues to soar, firmly rooted in Christian values while confidently engaging the global academic and professional landscape.
