Kabarak University is not just an institution of higher learning; it's a place that believes in nurturing young minds and shaping their futures. Last Friday, a dedicated team of four individuals set out on a mission to Mumias West and East, eager to share the opportunities and knowledge that Kabarak University has to offer. Led by Pastor Esther Kapsir, Dominic Cherop, Lutta Mumia (a student hailing from Mumias), they embarked on a journey of career mentorship and inspiration.
Their itinerary included visits to six prominent schools in the Mumias West and East regions. The schools were Mary Seat of Wisdom Bulimbo Girls High School, St. Matthias Mwitoti Secondary School, ACK St. Paul's Lubino Boys High School, ACK St. Paul's Lubino Girls High School, Kilimo Girls Secondary School, and Buchenya Girls Secondary School. These institutions were the perfect platforms for sharing the amazing programs offered by Kabarak University and providing valuable career guidance and mentorship to both staff and students.
One of the highlights of their visit was the discussion of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) courses. These practical, skill-based courses offer a pathway to a successful career, and Kabarak University is dedicated to providing top-notch education in this field. By sharing information about TVET courses, the team aimed to open up new possibilities for the students of Mumias.
This impactful career day and mentorship session were made possible through the efforts of Kabarak University's marketing team, led by Mr. Andrew Marangu, the Corporate Communication & Marketing Manager. Their dedication to spreading the university's message of educational excellence and real-life skills was evident throughout the visit.
The mission to Mumias West and East took place on the 6th and 7th of October, leaving behind an inspired community of students and educators. Kabarak University's commitment to empowering the next generation shines brightly through such initiatives, and it's clear that they are not only shaping futures through education but also transforming communities through mentorship and outreach.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Vice-Chancellor and the University Management Board (UMB) for their unwavering support of this event. Their commitment to nurturing talent and empowering young minds underscores Kabarak University's dedication to shaping the leaders of tomorrow, no matter where they may be found.
