Kabarak University School of Music and Media Mentorship Session: Learning is Accompanied by A Sense of Obligation

Learning comes with a sense of responsibility, and Kabarak University takes pleasure in having highly qualified Professors with their students’ best interests in mind. They go above and above to emulate their best qualities in our students.

This afternoon, Professor Mellitus Wanyama, the school's founding dean, presided over a mentoring session with students and lecturers from the Kabarak School of Music and Media. The purpose of the meeting was to introduce prospective students to the excellent institution where they can further their careers, build relationships with them, and inform them of the options that are accessible.

The dean gave an overview of the semester's goals and prospects for students and urged them to hone their craft and master each new skill they would be studying.

He exhorted the students to participate in the upcoming contest held by the Kenya University Performing Arts Association ( KUPAA ). Kabarak University was invited by KUPAA to compete in the nationals, which will take place from March 12 to March 18, 2023.

For inventing the use of QR Codes to streamline communication between students and lecturers, book studio sessions, and borrow equipment from the resource room, he credited Brian Chepsergon, the school's resource manager.

He also informed the school that Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry Kiplangat, who had just visited, had been very impressed with the invention and had urged other schools to develop their own to help the institution run smoothly.

The school agreed to arrange regular internal and external meetings with different stakeholders and recognized the value of a mentorship program. This is done to encourage and stimulate the students during their time at school.
