Kabarak University once again demonstrated its standing as a preferred hub for major regional events as it officially kicked off the PEFA (Pentecostal Evangelistic Fellowship of Africa) Pastors' Wives Conference. The two-day gathering is currently taking place at the University Auditorium, bringing together leaders and delegates from across the region.
The conference was officially opened by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat, PhD, MBS, OGW, who served as the chief guest. In his opening remarks, Prof. Kiplangat warmly welcomed the leadership of PEFA Church Kenya, including Presiding Bishop John Okinda, Deputy Presiding Bishop Paul Munyiri, and Rev. Pamela Okinda, Chair of the PEFA Pastors' Wives Fellowship, and expressed gratitude to the church for repeatedly choosing Kabarak University as a venue for its key functions.
Focusing on the event's core theme, "Empowering Pastors' Wives for Effective Ministry," the Vice-Chancellor highlighted the vital and unique role that pastors' wives hold within their families, congregations, and broader communities. Drawing on Genesis 2:18 and Ephesians 4:11–12, he noted that ministry extends far beyond the pulpit and emphasized the immense strength of spiritual partnership. He expressed his hope that the two days would provide the delegates with a meaningful time of encouragement, reflection, and spiritual renewal.
Prof. Kiplangat also took the opportunity to share the vibrant vision of Kabarak University, a premier private Christian institution committed to Education in Biblical Perspective. Fully accredited by the Commission for University Education (CUE) and holding ISO 9001:2015 certification, the university offers a broad range of undergraduate, master's, and doctoral programs across seven specialized schools.
In addition to its flagship on-campus programmes, Kabarak continues to expand access to high-quality learning through its robust eCampus, flexible online degrees, and global academic partnerships with top institutions across South Africa, the US, the UK, China, and Germany.
As the delegates engage in sessions over the next two days, Kabarak University is honored to offer a serene, world-class environment for reflection, learning, and growth. We wish all attendees a deeply fruitful and uplifting conference experience!
