The Kabarak University Student Organisation (KUSO) is hosting the May-August Semester 2026 Sports Week, bringing together students and staff from the Main and City Campuses for five days of competition, teamwork, and school spirit. Running from 30th June to 4th July 2026, the event has turned the University's sports grounds into lively spaces where talent, determination, and healthy competition take centre stage.
Organized by the University Sports Department in collaboration with the Sports Officers and elected Student Leaders for Sports and Recreation, Sports Week features a range of indoor and outdoor games that continue to attract enthusiastic participation and support from across the University community.
Leading this year's programme are Student Leaders for Sports and Recreation George Carl-Max Otieno and Mary Idza Kalu from the Main Campus, alongside Humphred Meitekini and Irene Mutindi from the City Campus. Working with the Sports Department and the University administration, they have coordinated activities throughout the week and helped ensure the event runs smoothly.
While the matches have been competitive, Sports Week is about more than winning. It gives students a chance to stay active, build friendships, relieve academic pressure, and develop qualities such as discipline, teamwork, resilience, and leadership. It is a reminder that university life extends beyond the classroom and that personal growth happens in many different spaces.
The event also serves as an important opportunity to identify athletes who will represent Kabarak University in upcoming regional and national inter-university competitions. For many participants, it is a chance to test themselves, improve their performance, and gain valuable competitive experience.
As Sports Week continues, the energy around campus reflects what makes the event special. Students are cheering each other on, teams are pushing themselves to perform at their best, and every match is adding to a shared sense of community. It is a week that celebrates not only sporting ability, but also the friendships, confidence, and campus pride that grow through sport.
