Successful Visit to Timsales Factory by KUPPRAC And Enactus Kabarak

On 13th July 2024, the Kabarak University Public Policy Research and Analysis Club (KUPPRAC) and the Enactus Kabarak Chapter embarked on an enlightening visit to the Timsales Factory in Elburgon. Led by the club's Deputy President, Boaz Masika Omato, 61 dedicated students and a staff member ventured to the factory to gain a deeper understanding of sustainable industrial practices and corporate environmental responsibility.

Timsales Factory, renowned for its production of plywood, fibreboards, block boards, flush doors, and timber, welcomed the club members with an in-depth tour of their facilities. The Timsales management team provided comprehensive insights into their manufacturing processes, highlighting their innovative approach to waste recycling and environmental conservation. This firsthand exposure to sustainable business practices was particularly valuable for the KUPPRAC members, who focus on public policy research and analysis, offering them a practical case study on the implementation and impact of corporate environmental policies.

The visit included an engaging educational session where Timsales experts discussed the company’s commitment to sustainability and answered questions from the students. This interactive session deepened the members' understanding of the industrial sector's role in environmental conservation and sustainable development.

Following the factory visit, the students participated in a team-building activity in Elburgon. This activity was designed to strengthen teamwork, leadership, and interpersonal skills among participants, fostering a collaborative spirit essential for future projects and initiatives.

The visit not only provided invaluable learning opportunities but also reinforced the importance of integrating sustainable practices into business operations. Members left the event inspired and better equipped to incorporate these insights into their research and community outreach projects.

KUPPRAC and Enactus Kabarak Chapter extend their heartfelt gratitude to Timsales Limited for their hospitality and for providing such an enriching experience. We also thank the Kabarak University administration for their unwavering support in facilitating this visit. Special appreciation goes to all organizers, coordinators, and participants whose dedication and enthusiasm made this event a success.

We look forward to organizing more such initiatives that promote education, sustainability, and community engagement, reflecting our commitment to making a positive impact on society.
