A delegation from Nanjing Agricultural University (NAU), China, visited Kabarak University today to explore new opportunities for collaboration in research, innovation, and academic exchange. The team, led by Prof. Wu Rongshun, Vice President of NAU, was warmly received by Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat, the Vice-Chancellor of Kabarak University, together with members of the University Management Board.
In his remarks, Prof. Kiplangat expressed his appreciation for the strong partnership that has continued to grow between the two institutions. Over the past year, the collaboration has achieved impressive milestones, from the launch of the Chinese Language Teaching Program in 2024, which has already trained over 120 students, to several student exchange and cultural programs that have exposed learners to international experiences in China.

Kabarak students have not only excelled in these cultural exchanges but have also shone in competitions such as the Chinese Bridge Language Competition, where one student ranked sixth nationally, and the China International College Students Innovation Competition, where four Kabarak teams advanced to the Nairobi finals and earned a silver medal.
Two students have also been awarded graduate scholarships at Nanjing Agricultural University, one pursuing a PhD in Plant Genetics and Breeding, and another a Master’s in Animal Nutrition and Feed Science. These achievements highlight the real impact of the growing partnership.
Looking ahead, the Vice-Chancellor proposed deepening the collaboration through faculty exchange programs, joint research, and technology transfer initiatives, particularly in agriculture and biotechnology. He noted that these efforts will not only strengthen Kabarak University’s academic capacity but also contribute to Kenya’s agricultural transformation and food security goals.
