A team of researchers and innovation experts from the Kenya National Innovation Agency (KeNIA) paid a two-day visit to Kabarak University to profile the level innovations at the University. Geared towards creating an environment that supports development of entrepreneurial savvy scholars, the survey was premised on ten fundamental variables. They include; Leadership and governance, Infrastructure, Innovation activities, IP management, Policies and strategies, Human resource, Funding, Entrepreneurial education, Internalization and Link with external environment.
The team held various consultative meetings with disparate members of the university including members of the University Management, Deans of Schools, Directors, Kabarak University funded innovators (students & members of faculty), members of the Directorate of Research, Innovation and Outreach (RIO) among others. A report detailing findings of the survey will be compiled and shared during the Kenya Innovation Week (KIW) scheduled towards end the year. The findings will be leveraged to inform policy formulation as well as provide a framework for institutional efforts aimed at developing entrepreneurial sensitive programs.
