Goal of the Program

Keeping in view job prospects in banking & financial sector the objective of the course is to give in-depth knowledge of Banking and Finance to the students of commerce, management and economics with practical inputs and prepare them for career in Banks & other Financial Institutions.

 

Expected Learning Outcomes of the Program

Upon successful completion of this course, graduates will be able to:

a) Knowledge and Understanding

  1. Explain basic concepts and principles of Banking and Finance
  2. Describe the functions and management of financial institutions.

b) Skills

  1. Apply key concepts of Banking and Finance skills to solve management problems in service organizations.
  2. Demonstrate knowledge and skills in information technology competencies required in banking and finance practices.

c) Professional Development and Attitudes

  1. Interpret economics and accounting data relevant to financial services and use the information to make decisions.
  2. Conduct research relevant to financial services, and analyze information using analytical tools and problem-solving skills.

 

Minimum Admission Requirements
a) An applicant should have at least a mean grade of C- (minus) in the Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education

OR
b) Be a holder of a relevant Certificate from a recognized institution.
