Dr. Otieno's journey to his PhD is particularly noteworthy, as he is the first individual from our region to attain this advanced degree in Medical Physiology. His dedication and perseverance culminated in this prestigious achievement, awarded by the University of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa, making him the 8th Ph.D. holder from this renowned institution. This accomplishment is even more significant in light of the recent Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) established between Kabarak University School of Medicine and Health Sciences and the University of KwaZulu-Natal's College of Health Sciences.
