Bachelor of Science in Nursing (Direct Entry)
KCSE C+ with C+ in English/Kiswahili, Mathematics/Physics, Chemistry and Biology

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (In-Service)

KCSE C (Plain) or KCE Division II with at least two years relevant experience after graduation as a registered nurse. Valid Practicing License.

Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine (direct entry)
The 4-year Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine program has been designed to recognize that its graduates will have advanced training in basic sciences, clinical and community health in order to provide health care that will integrate curative and preventive health care. This program will also give an opportunity for the practising Clinical Officers to upgrade their education and skills while opening avenues for the graduates to advance in postgraduate and research areas. The core modules in this program include Paediatrics, Reproductive health, Minor Surgery, Internal Medicine, Psychiatry and Community Health. Specialised units include ENT, Ophthalmology, Dental health, Oncology and Dermatology.

All applicants for admission to the Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine must satisfy the following requirements:

  • A mean grade of C+ (plus) in K.C.S.E with a minimum of C+ (plus) in the following subjects: Chemistry or Physical science, Physics or Mathematics, Biology or Biological Sciences, English or Kiswahili
  • OR At least 2 principal passes in Biology, Chemistry and a subsidiary pass in either Mathematics or Physical sciences at the advance level or its equivalent as determined by the University Senate.
  • OR Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery from a recognized institution approved by the University Senate. Holders of Clinical Medicine and Surgery will be eligible for credit transfer for up to 30% as will be approved by the Senate in the first and second-year courses only.
  • OR Degree in Medical Sciences: A minimum O level division II or C+ Mean grade and a credit pass C+ in the cluster subjects in K.C.S.E in addition to a credit pass in the subsequent professional qualifications from a recognized medical training institution.

Bachelor of Science in Clinical Medicine (In-Service)

KCSE C (plain) with Diploma in Clinical Medicine

Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health

KCSE C+, with C+ in Chemistry,Biology, English or Kiswahili and Mathematics/Physics

 

Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery Minimum Admission Requirements

All applicants for admission to the Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery must satisfy the following requirements:

  • KCSE C (Plain) with C in Biology; English/Kiswahili; and C– in Chemistry and in any one of these: Mathematics or Physics

Diploma in Environmental Health

KCSE C (plain) with C in English/Kiswahili; C (Plain) in Mathematics/Physics/ Chemistry; OR Certificate in Environmental Health/Community Health.

Diploma in Medical Laboratory Sciences

KCSE C (Plain) with C in Biology/Chemistry; English/Kiswahili; and C-in Mathematics/Physics; OR Certificate in Medical Laboratory Technology

Diploma in Clinical Medicine and Surgery

KCSE C (Plain) with C in Biology, English or Kiswahili; or C-in Mathematics, Physicsor Chemistry.

Certificate in Environmental Impact Assessment

A recognized first degree in science, law, or developmental studies
