Kabarak University today hosted a high-level delegation from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) for a site inspection of the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences. The visit, held at the University Boardroom, brought together members of the University Management Board, faculty from the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and KMLTTB officials led by Mr. Patrick Kisabei.
In his welcome remarks, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat emphasized the University's unwavering commitment to delivering quality education founded on Biblical Christian values. He lauded the inspection as a testament to Kabarak University's dedication to upholding the highest academic and professional standards in Medical Laboratory Sciences.
“This visit signifies the mutual commitment we share towards advancing Medical Laboratory Sciences in Kenya,” Prof. Kiplangat stated. He further highlighted Kabarak's ISO 9001:2015 certification and its robust internal quality systems that reflect the University’s pursuit of continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.
Present during the visit were Prof. Pamela Kimeto, Dean of the School of Medicine and Health Sciences, and Dr. Michael Walekhwa, Head of the Department of Medical Laboratory Sciences, both of whom played a key role in guiding the KMLTTB delegation through the University’s facilities and academic structures.
The KMLTTB team toured the department’s state-of-the-art laboratories, classrooms, the University Library, and various support facilities. They also had the opportunity to engage with faculty and staff, review university policies, and explore the standard operating procedures that guide teaching and learning at the institution.
Prof. Kiplangat also shared key developments within the University’s academic ecosystem, including the roles played by various directorates such as Quality Assurance and Institutional Planning, Excellence in Learning and Teaching, Research and Innovation, and Kabarak University Online, among others.
