Over the past two weeks, the Department of Mass Communication within the School of Music and Media has embarked on a county-wide outreach initiative to promote its diverse program offerings. Currently, the department provides four programs: Post-graduate Diploma in Mass Communication, Bachelor of Mass Communication, Diploma in Mass Communication, and Certificate in Mass Communication.
A particular focus of this campaign was the introduction of the new Post-graduate Diploma in Mass Communication. This program aims to equip individuals with the necessary knowledge and skills for careers in media studies, public relations, and communication, regardless of their prior background in journalism or mass communication.
Led by the Head of the Department Dr. Michael Ndonye, the team, comprising Mr. Evans Eric Ochieng, Ms. Dorcas Kebenei, and Mr. Jimmy Mburu, successfully engaged with prospective students across multiple counties. The team capitalized on this opportunity to elucidate the new program, address inquiries, and emphasize the department's commitment to quality teaching, student support, and flexible learning through a blended mode of delivery.
In addition to promoting the post-graduate diploma, the department leveraged this outreach to showcase other programs offered within Kabarak University.
