Kabarak University Hosts KIM OPI COYA Champions Training Program

Kabarak University was privileged to host the OPI COYA Champions Training Program, organized by the Kenya Institute of Management (KIM), on 18–19 August 2025 at the KABUO Conference Hall.

The two-day intensive training brought together selected members of Kabarak University staff appointed as Company of the Year Awards (COYA) Champions to deepen their understanding of the Organizational Performance Index (OPI) philosophy, principles, determinants, and scoring methodology. Participants engaged in group scoring sessions, feedback discussions, and the development of work plans to guide future self-assessment and assessor visits.

The training was officially opened with prayer, welcome remarks, and an introduction to the OPI framework, followed by insightful sessions on the 7 Determinants, the OPI Tool, and Performance Scoring. Day two emphasized feedback, collaborative exercises, and creating practical strategies for embedding OPI practices at the university.

At the conclusion of the program, all Champions were awarded certificates in recognition of their commitment to advancing organizational excellence through OPI standards.

Kabarak University extends its gratitude to the Kenya Institute of Management for facilitating this transformative program and reaffirms its dedication to fostering a culture of continuous improvement, integrity, and excellence.
