The energy on campus this week is different. Kabarak University is hosting the 2026 Daniels' Youth Summit by Compassion International Kenya (CIK), and the Convocation Hall is packed with young leaders ready to get to work.
Opening the four-day event, Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat welcomed the delegates and the CIK team back to campus. Speaking on this year’s theme, "FOR ALL" (drawn from 1 Timothy 2:3–6), he urged participants to take whatever they gain over the next few days and use it to serve others back home.
"What you receive can become what you give to others. What you learn here, what God teaches you, and the experiences you share during this conference can become a source of encouragement and transformation in your friends, families, your churches, your schools, your workplaces, and your communities." — Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat, Vice-Chancellor

Pointing to Matthew 5:14–16, he reminded the crowd that their faith needs to show up in how they live, work, and treat people every day.
What’s Happening Over the Next 4 Days
The summit program skips generic talk to give young people practical tools for a tough economic landscape:
- Financial & Career Prep: Plenary sessions on financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and personal branding.
- Targeted Breakouts: Seminars covering mental health, digital skills, earning online, and navigating politics.
- Real-World Connections: A business exhibition for young entrepreneurs, a dream canvas, and community service projects with groups like Corps Africa and UN Volunteers.
- Fellowship & Faith: Prayer spaces, open discussions on relationships, and a worship night to close things out.
As CIK National Director Samuel Wambugu pointed out, academic success isn't enough on its own anymore. Young people need digital literacy, practical skills, and clear direction to handle unemployment and shifting career paths.
Through our partnership with CIK, Kabarak is focused on real outcomes—offering mentorship, hands-on training, and diploma-to-degree credit transfers to help these 1,200+ sponsored youth build stable, independent futures.
We are glad to have these young leaders on campus, and we look forward to seeing where this week takes them
