A Day of Fun and Fitness at Kabarak University Nakuru City Campus

On July 18, 2025, students from Kabarak University’s Nakuru City Campus and KABU TVET Institute came together in a vibrant celebration of unity and wellness during a well-organized Sports Day. The event offered students a much-needed opportunity to unwind and recharge through physical activity, just weeks before their end-of-semester examinations. Beyond being a recreational break, the event underscored the importance of sports in promoting both physical health and mental well-being.

The Sports Day was coordinated by the Department of Student Affairs in partnership with student leaders from both the Kabarak University Student Organization (KUSO) and the KABU TVET Student Organization (KUTSO). Their joint efforts ensured that all activities ran smoothly and inclusively, reflecting the spirit of collaboration that defines student life at Kabarak.

Participants engaged in a wide range of indoor and outdoor games. Indoor games included darts, table tennis, pool, chess, and Scrabble, while outdoor activities featured volleyball and the always entertaining egg race. The availability of modern and well-maintained sports facilities on campus made it possible for students to enjoy every aspect of the day fully.

The highlight of the event was the volleyball match, which brought a burst of energy to the campus grounds. Players exhibited top-notch skills and unwavering determination, much to the excitement of the cheering crowd. It was a thrilling and unifying moment for both players and spectators alike. Beyond the competitive spirit, students and staff who attended the event created new friendships, discovered new talents, and strengthened bonds across academic levels and departments.

As the day came to a close, tired muscles were matched with lifted spirits. The success of the event served as a powerful reminder that all work and no play truly makes Jack a dull boy. We extend our sincere appreciation to the Office of the Dean of Students and the Office of the Director – Nakuru City Campus for their unwavering support. Special thanks also go to the University Management for their continued commitment to promoting holistic student development at Kabarak University.
