Kabarak University has marked another historic milestone on the regional stage, emerging as the Overall Company of the Year (Large Enterprise) at the 2025 East African Community (EAC) Regional Quality Awards held on Monday, 10th November 2025, at the Weston Hotel in Nairobi. The University also secured the 2nd Runners-Up position in the Service of the Year – Large Enterprises Category, reaffirming its place among East Africa’s most distinguished institutions.
This achievement follows the University’s exceptional performance at the Kenya Quality Awards (KQA), where Kabarak University was named Company of the Year (Large Enterprises) and Service of the Year (Private – Large Enterprises). That national success earned the University the honour of representing Kenya at the regional level—a responsibility embraced with pride.
From the onset, the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat set a confident tone for the delegation. His composure, strategic clarity, and commitment to quality propelled the University to excel on the regional platform. At the ceremony, Prof. Kiplangat received the awards on behalf of the institution, accompanied by Dr. Titus Suge, Deputy Management Representative for ISO (DMR). Prof. Kiplangat's leadership was widely recognised by other contestants and organisers, who praised Kabarak University’s consistent upward trajectory under his stewardship.
This year’s EAC Regional Quality Awards brought together national champions from Kenya (host), Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda, Burundi, Somalia, and South Sudan. The competition has grown significantly, with 40 organisations participating—up from 24 in 2024—as each country presented its top performers from national quality assessments. With Uganda hosting the 2024 edition, the 2025 event was a fitting homecoming for Kenya.
The ceremony gathered East Africa’s finest under the theme “Winners Circle – Quality in Motion,” celebrating the very best from each member state. Kabarak University’s recognition as the region’s top large enterprise affirmed a simple truth: excellence at Kabarak is intentional, cultivated, and consistently demonstrated.
In his remarks, Prof. Kiplangat expressed gratitude to the Board of Trustees, the Chancellor Hon. Gideon Moi, the Governing Council, the University Management Board, the Senate, faculty, staff, and students—whose dedication anchors the institution’s quality journey. Through his leadership, Kabarak University continues to stand as both a national benchmark and a regional force in quality management, governance, and service delivery.
