On March 15, 2025, peer counselors from Kabarak University’s Nakuru City Campus and KABU TVET Institute came together in a remarkable display of love and unity. Their mission was clear: to bring joy and hope to the children of Amani Children’s Home in Lanet.
The peer counselors were warmly welcomed upon their arrival, and the children’s faces lit up with priceless smiles as they met their new friends. After a brief introduction, the students quickly divided their responsibilities to ensure the day was both productive and enjoyable. While some entertained the children with games, songs, and lively interactions, others rolled up their sleeves and prepared a delicious lunch. A few students even showcased their talents by offering hairdressing services, much to the delight of the children.
During lunch, the peer counselors served meals with care, ensuring that every child and caregiver was well-fed. Afterward, they diligently cleaned the utensils and joined the rest of the group for a session of entertainment and encouragement. This moment was filled with joy, laughter, and heartfelt connections, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
As the day drew to a close, the children were presented with gifts, which they received with immense gratitude. It was a truly memorable day for both the peer counselors and the children, as new bonds of friendship were formed. The experience served as a powerful reminder that “kindness is a gift everyone can afford to give.”
We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the University Management for their support in making this initiative possible.
