The Crowning of Mr. and Miss Kabarak at the 2025 Cultural Week Gala Ceremony

Kabarak University wrapped up its highly anticipated 2025 Cultural Week in grand style, leaving a lasting impression on all who participated. The cultural week which was held from Monday, the 17th of March with the opening ceremony, auditions on Wednesday, to Saturday, the 22nd of March, the event was an inspiring celebration of tradition, creativity, and forward-looking vision, reflecting this year’s theme: "Echoes of the Past, Visions of the Future."

The climax of the week was the Gala night ceremony, which took place on the evening of Saturday, 22nd March 2025. The event featured the renowned Kenyan-based international MC, brand influencer, voice-over artist and crowd energizer, MC Gogo. He  energized the audience with electrifying hype and captivating entertainment performances, leaving the crowd singing and dancing along.

A unique aspect of this year’s event was the overarching theme that wove together the university’s diverse cultural expressions and its aspirations for the future. In her speech, the Dean of Students, Dr Dorcas Githaiga emphasized the importance of honoring cultural heritage while embracing innovation and growth. The week-long festivities included a rich variety of activities such as traditional dances, storytelling sessions, exhibitions of art and craft and inter-cultural exchanges. These activities provided students, faculty, and staff members with opportunities to share and learn from one another’s unique backgrounds and cultures.

The 2025 Cultural Week showcased Kabarak University as not only a center for academic excellence but also a vibrant hub for cultural preservation and exploration. It was a resounding success, leaving participants inspired and motivated to cherish their roots while dreaming boldly about the future. The crowning of Mr. and Miss Kabarak was the highlight of the Gala Ceremony, and it ended in jubilation as Brenda Kingi was crowned as Miss Kabarak 2025, and Jayden Omenge was crowned as Mr. Kabarak 2025. The two winners had competed against several other contestants, and the audience erupted in cheers and applause as they were crowned.
