Kabarak University continues to make remarkable strides in legal advocacy, proudly demonstrating its excellence on the national stage at the prestigious Supreme Court Moot Court Competition held from 12th to 14th November 2025.
Represented by the brilliant team of Tracy Jerop, Liberty Mshindi, and Ashley Ngeno, under the expert mentorship of Coach Levy Masinde, the University showcased tenacity, intellectual rigor, and unwavering dedication throughout the three-day competition. Their spirited performance advanced them all the way to the grand finale—an extraordinary achievement that reflects the strength and depth of our legal training.
The competition challenged participants to navigate complex legal issues at the intersection of refugee law and emerging artificial intelligence technologies. Our team excelled in developing compelling written submissions and delivering articulate, persuasive oral arguments that demonstrated refined legal reasoning and exceptional advocacy skills. Their collaborative effort and resilience enabled them to overcome demanding rounds and emerge as first runners-up in this year’s event.
A special highlight of the competition was the recognition of Tracy Jerop, who was awarded the Best Female Oralist—a distinguished accolade that underscores both her individual brilliance and the strong support system fostered within the team. Each member also received a certificate of excellence in acknowledgment of their exemplary performance.

The quality of our submissions earned high praise not only from the magistrates but also from the Supreme Court Justices, who commended the team’s professionalism, depth of legal insight, and mastery in both written and oral advocacy. This affirmation from the country’s highest judicial authority has further strengthened the team’s confidence and elevated Kabarak University’s reputation within Kenya’s legal academic community.
This year’s achievement follows Kabarak University’s advancement to the semi-finals in the previous edition, affirming an impressive trajectory of consistent growth and excellence in moot court competitions. Our School of Law is steadily establishing itself as a formidable powerhouse in legal scholarship and advocacy training.
Beyond the accolades, participation in the Supreme Court Moot Court Competition provided our students with a transformative learning experience—expanding their legal knowledge, sharpening their analytical capacities, and strengthening their commitment to impactful advocacy. The competition has fueled an even deeper passion for the practice of law, inspiring the team to continue striving toward excellence in future endeavors.
Kabarak University extends its heartfelt congratulations to Tracy, Liberty, Ashley, and Coach Masinde for their remarkable performance and exemplary representation of our institution. We further express profound gratitude to the School of Law, the Dean, and the University administration for their unwavering support—including logistical facilitation, mentorship, and constant encouragement throughout the preparation and competition phases.
