Stronger Healthcare Collaboration Takes Shape Following High-Level Engagement with Rongai Health Team

A stronger partnership for healthier communities took shape today as leaders from the Rongai Sub-County Health Management Team met with the Kabarak University leadership to explore new opportunities for collaboration in healthcare service delivery, training, research, and community outreach.

The delegation, led by Sub-County Health Team Lead Mr. Kiplagat K. Walcot, was received by Vice-Chancellor Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat, alongside members of the University Management board and the Kabarak Medical Centre team. The meeting built on a longstanding partnership that continues to improve access to quality healthcare while creating meaningful opportunities for learning and research.

The delegation applauded the University's continued support for the Kabarak Health Centre, particularly through the provision of infrastructure that enables the facility to serve students, staff, and the neighbouring community. They noted that the collaboration has played an important role in strengthening healthcare delivery and improving health outcomes across Rongai Sub-County.

Discussions focused on expanding joint initiatives in health promotion, disease prevention, clinical service delivery, research, practical training, and continuous quality improvement. Both teams agreed that closer collaboration would help address emerging healthcare needs while enriching the learning experience for students pursuing health-related programmes.

The meeting concluded with a shared commitment to deepen collaboration between the University and the County Department of Health through regular consultations, expanded community outreach programmes, joint research, and continued support for the growth of the Kabarak Health Centre.
