Kabarak University through School of Pharmacy conducted an Outreach activity on 8th to 10th September, 2021.

The objectives of the Outreach was ; to sensitize and educate the community within Rongai subcounty on prevention of infectious diseases such as covid 19, HIV/AIDS, TB, water-borne diseases etc.; to sensitize and educate the community within Rongai subcounty on food storage and use of clean water; to sensitize and educate the community within Rongai subcounty on medication use and benefits of seeking early diagnosis and treatment; to deworm the community members Attendance/ participants: The outreach had the following impact; disseminated health information to the community, Students gained skills on communication and interactions with the community, Community members dewormed and learned on prevention of diseases and expected change of perception on vaccine use and increase in vaccine uptake.

The activity was conducted at Mercy Njeri centre, Mangu centre, Sobea centre, Rafiki centre, Kampi Ya Moto centre and Mogotio IDP camp centre. up to 200 community members were reached. The activity was attended by the School of pharmacy lecturers lead by Dr. Vincent Nyandoro, and Y4S3 students who were on attachment during May-August 2021 semester and Rongai subcounty public health team
