Kabarak University’s School of Business and Economics, in partnership with the Nakuru County Tourism Association (NCTA), hosted the Graduation and Closing Ceremony of the Tourism Refresher Courses at the Nakuru City Campus. The ceremony marked the successful completion of a five-day intensive training program designed to strengthen skills in tour operations, hotel management, customer service, and event planning.

The event was presided over by the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat, who congratulated the graduates and reminded them that graduation was not an end, but the beginning of leveraging the knowledge and skills they had acquired. He encouraged participants to translate their training into practical solutions that will elevate service standards and foster innovation in the tourism and hospitality sector.

The program is part of Kabarak University’s commitment to strategic partnerships that drive sustainable growth in Nakuru County. Through collaborations with key industry stakeholders such as NCTA, the University continues to play a vital role in building capacity, enhancing competitiveness, and positioning Nakuru as a premier destination under its vision as the “City of Unlimited Possibilities.”

More than 200 professionals took part in the refresher courses, benefiting from expert training delivered by both seasoned industry practitioners and Kabarak faculty. Their graduation symbolizes personal career advancement and a renewed boost to the regional tourism economy.
