The Kabarak University School of Music and Media (SMM) recently hosted a captivating Senior Recital that showcased the exceptional talents of our graduating students. Held on the 19th of July at the Amphitheater, the event was a resounding success, filled with elegance, brilliance, and a palpable sense of accomplishment. Our four talented finalists, Diana Amunya, Laura Gacheru, Linah Kamore, and Faith Akoth, mesmerized the audience with their diverse and virtuosic performances, spanning voice, saxophone, piano, and violin.
Professor Mellitus Wanyama, our esteemed Dean, graced the occasion with his insightful remarks. Drawing from his extensive experience as an external examiner in numerous African universities, he expressed immense pride in our students’ achievements. Professor Wanyama emphasized the rigorous standards of our music program and extended heartfelt gratitude to the student’s parents for entrusting us with their children’s musical education. He also acknowledged the invaluable contributions of our judges, Ms. Berbra and Mr. Bichanga, both accomplished alumni of SMM.
The Senior Recital was a magnificent culmination of years of dedication and hard work. It served as a testament to the exceptional music education provided at Kabarak University. As we bid farewell to this talented cohort, we look forward to the next generation of musicians who will continue to elevate the standards of our School of Music and Media.
The next recital is scheduled for the upcoming semester.
