Kabarak University recently hosted a specialized training session facilitated by Educational Scientific & Technical Equipment Company (ESTEC) Limited, focusing on “Advancing Research through Chromatography and Spectroscopy.”
The initiative was organized by the School of Science, Engineering, and Technology (SSET) through the Department of Physical and Biological Sciences and was coordinated by Dr. Caroline Chepkirui, Head of the Department of Biological and Physical Sciences, on behalf of the Dean, SSET, Prof. Peter Rugiri, and featured an insightful presentation by Mr. Tom Ouma, Business Development Manager at ESTEC Limited. Mr. Ouma delivered an engaging talk on integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) with analytical techniques, demonstrating how this intersection is revolutionizing research in Chemistry, Physics, and Biology while improving laboratory efficiency and precision.
The core objective of the session was to strengthen scientific research capacity by focusing on advanced methodologies in chromatography and spectroscopy. This hands-on knowledge transfer is crucial in ensuring that both students and faculty are proficient in operating and interpreting data from sophisticated analytical instruments, an essential skill for conducting high-impact research and attracting competitive external funding.
Ultimately, the ESTEC training marks a strategic investment by Kabarak University in bridging the gap between academic theory and modern scientific practice.
