Kabarak University Takes Center Stage: Celebrating 15 Wins at KUPAA Performing Arts Competition

On Wednesday, Kabarak University, renowned for its exceptional academic programs and spiritual foundation, dedicated its chapel program to celebrate a remarkable achievement. The Kabarak University and Chapel Choir, along with the teams from the School of Music and Media and the recently returned dancers, emerged victorious at the Kenya Universities Performing Arts Association held at Maasai Mara University.

The group presented an impressive 34 items, and they won an astounding 15 of them. The team was accompanied by their trainers, who are renowned experts in their fields. Prof. B.J.A Ngala, Mr. Fred Wekesa, Mr. Thuku Kimani, Dr. Rosemary Murundu, Mr. Joram Agimba, and Mr. Githinji Kaniu all played instrumental roles in reproducing the best in the teams that represented Kabarak University.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry Kiplangat, could not contain his joy as he congratulated the teams and coaches for their exceptional performance. In his speech, he quoted Psalm 115:1, remarking that Kabarak University dedicates the win to the Lord Almighty, who gave them the victory they deserved through the hard work and effort the participants employed.

Prof. Kiplangat urged visiting high school students from Kapsigilai Girls Secondary School to work hard in their academics to secure a chance to attend Kabarak University, a great institution of higher learning, where they too could soar like eagles.

The Kenya Universities Performing Arts Association is an annual event that brings together various universities across Kenya to showcase their music, dance, and drama talent. The competition aims to promote and nurture performing arts talent in universities, which is essential in shaping the holistic development of students.
