Interactive Chapel Conversation on Resilience and Purpose

We held a special Wednesday Chapel Service today, featuring an engaging pastoral conversation centered on the theme "Resilience: Mission Possible," drawn from 2 Corinthians 4:8-9.

The interactive session brought together members of the university community for a thought-provoking conversation on the importance of resilience in navigating life's challenges, pursuing one's purpose, and remaining grounded in faith. The discussion explored how individuals can develop the strength to persevere through difficult circumstances while continuing to grow spiritually, personally, and academically.

The panel featured Rev. Justus Mutuku, Ag. Provost; Rev. Laban Kittony, University Chaplain; Pst. Deborah Juma, University Assistant Chaplain; Obegi Morara, a student from the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences; and Abigail Kinyanjui, a student from the School of Pharmacy. Their diverse perspectives enriched the conversation, creating an opportunity for both staff and students to reflect on resilience from leadership, pastoral, and student experiences.

The panelists encouraged the congregation to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth, emphasizing the importance of faith, perseverance, community support, and a clear sense of purpose. The conversation also highlighted the need for students and members of staff to remain resilient in the face of academic, personal, and professional challenges while staying committed to their God-given missions.

The service also provided a special moment of celebration as the Kabarak University community joined together to wish Prof. Gladys Kiptiony, Dean of the School of Education, Humanities and Social Sciences (SEHSS), a happy birthday. The congregation celebrated her milestone with warm wishes and prayers, appreciating her contribution to the university community and her leadership in the School.

The Wednesday Chapel Service served as a timely reminder that resilience is not simply about enduring challenges but also about growing through them, remaining anchored in faith, and moving forward with courage and purpose.
