Real Talk for Real Life Forum

Thursday, 11th September 2025, marked the conclusion of the week-long orientation program for the new first-year students. On this day, a group counselling forum dubbed “Coffee and Community” was held. The forum was organized by the Division of Spiritual and Student Affairs, where staff members engaged the new students in discussing real-life issues affecting university life.

The discussions addressed specific challenges faced by both male and female students and explored practical ways of overcoming them, guided by the experience and wisdom of the staff members. The forum provided a safe space where participants gained insights into handling matters related to relationships, discipline, and underlying personal struggles that may hinder one from operating optimally. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions, which were addressed comprehensively to their satisfaction.

The foundation laid during the orientation activities will undoubtedly serve as a strong cornerstone for those who paid keen attention and intend to apply the knowledge gained. As the saying goes, “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step” (Lao Tzu). May the wisdom shared during this orientation guide the new students toward a holistic and fulfilling student life experience.
