The Kabarak University community gathered for the Wednesday Chapel Service on 1st July 2026, where Rev. Justus Mutuku delivered a thought-provoking sermon titled "Resilience Under Attack: The Case of Micaiah," drawing his message from 1 Kings 22 and the theme verse in 2 Corinthians 4:8-9.
Reflecting on the realities of modern life, Rev. Mutuku observed that people often encounter setbacks, slowdowns, disappointments, and other challenges that threaten to derail their purpose and calling. He reminded the congregation that while believers may experience pressure from every direction, Scripture assures them that they are never defeated when their confidence remains anchored in God.
Using the biblical account of the prophet Micaiah, Rev. Mutuku illustrated the true meaning of spiritual resilience. Despite standing alone against four hundred false prophets, two kings, and an entire political establishment, Micaiah remained steadfast in proclaiming God's truth. His unwavering commitment to God's word, even in the face of overwhelming opposition, serves as a timeless example of courage and faithfulness.
He emphasized that Micaiah's resilience was founded on three unshakable convictions: knowing that God is the living and sovereign Lord, believing that God is continually at work in every circumstance, and being fully convinced that God is never late, never defeated, and never disappoints those who trust in Him. These truths, he noted, remain the foundation upon which Christians can confidently navigate life's uncertainties.
As the sermon concluded, members of the university community were challenged to cultivate resilient faith by remaining grounded in Scripture, trusting God's promises, and courageously standing for truth regardless of the circumstances they face.
