Wednesday Chapel Service Calls the Kabarak Community to Be Grounded in Christ

The Kabarak University community gathered for its Wednesday Chapel Service on 4th February 2026, where Rev. Laban Kitony delivered a timely and enriching sermon themed “Grounded in Christ: Our True Foundation,” drawn from Colossians 2:1-10.

The message aligned with the University’s 2026 Annual Theme, “Resilient Living: Grounded, Growing, Going Forward,” and this semester's focus is on being grounded for resilient living. Rev. Kitony reminded the congregation of the importance of remaining firmly rooted in Christ amid the pressures, uncertainties, and competing ideologies of contemporary life.

Drawing from the context of the Colossian church, he reflected on the dangers of relying on human philosophies, legalism, or alternative belief systems at the expense of the sufficiency of Christ. He emphasised that true spiritual stability and growth are found in continually living, growing, and being built up in Christ, who remains the complete and dependable foundation of faith.

The message also invited personal reflection, challenging members of the University community to examine their walk with Christ, pursue spiritual growth, and live out their faith practically within the family of God. Emphasis was placed on unity, love, and rejecting negative social divisions, in keeping with Christian values.
