KMUN Kabarak Chapter Triumph at the 22nd Session Model United Nations Mock Debate

The 22nd Session Model United Nations came alive for Kabarak Kmun as 60 students embarked on a transformative journey to the University of Nairobi's Mombasa campus. The excitement began with an early departure from school on January 19th at 3:00 am, weaving through picturesque landscapes with pit stops at Sabaki, Machakos, and Mtito Andei, where breakfast was savored. The seamless journey led to the welcoming arms of Mombasa at 5:00 pm, with accommodations split between Sunset Paradise Holiday Homes and Beachfront Holiday Homes in Shanzu.

The heart of the event unfolded on Saturday, January 20th, as students, well-prepared and eager, engaged in lively debates on pressing global issues. Divided into rooms, they tackled topics ranging from the impact of multinationals on Africa's economies to the delicate matter of exposing children to LGBTQ information in school syllabuses. The day culminated with an awards ceremony, showcasing Kabarak Kmun's prowess in oratory and diplomacy. Daniel Waweru shone as the Best Oralist on Veto Power, joined by Brian King'ori, Kelvin Musyimi, and Rosemary Karanja, who earned special mentions in their respective categories.

Following the intellectual showdown, students were transported back to Shanzu at 3:00 pm, where they unwound by touring the beach and enjoying Sunset Paradise Holiday Homes' recreational facilities on Sunday, January 21st. Departure from the coastal city was a collective sigh at 5:00 pm, punctuated by stops at Naivas Supermarket for refreshments, Mtito Andei for supper, and a final breakfast stop in Nairobi before reaching the university gate at 7:00 am.

In retrospect, the Third Mock Debate was not just a competition; it was a journey of growth, learning, and camaraderie. Kabarak Kmun's success was not just measured in awards but in the bonds forged and skills honed, making this Model United Nations session an indelible chapter in their academic journey.
