We hosted a distinguished delegation from the Kenya National Qualifications Authority (KNQA) today for a vital engagement held at the University Boardroom. The KNQA team, led by Dr. Alice Kande and Hon. Stanley Kiptis, was warmly received by our Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Henry K. Kiplangat.
The discussion focused on the Kenya National Qualifications Framework (KNQF), a national initiative designed to promote the standardization and harmonization of qualifications across Kenya’s education system. The KNQA team highlighted that the framework seeks to build mutual trust, ensure inclusion for all types of learners, and promote lifelong learning and mobility of qualifications. Ultimately, it aims to make education and training in Kenya more coherent, comparable, and responsive to the country’s social and economic needs.

The meeting offered an excellent opportunity for both teams to share insights on how Kabarak University can continue aligning its academic programs with national quality standards. The University reaffirmed its commitment to offering holistic, high-quality education that prepares students for both local and international competitiveness.
Prof. Kiplangat emphasized that quality assurance remains central to Kabarak’s mission: “We are intentional about ensuring that every program we offer meets national benchmarks and international best practices. Our goal is to produce graduates who can thrive anywhere in the world.”
Through regular program reviews and a strong internal quality assurance framework, Kabarak University continues to support national efforts led by KNQA to uphold excellence across all institutions of higher learning.
The visit concluded on a positive note, with both teams expressing their shared commitment to continuous improvement and collaboration. The engagement reaffirmed Kabarak University’s resolve to equip every student with relevant skills and recognized qualifications for success, both in Kenya and beyond.
